“Schools Behind Our River” planting day
Today we completed our first day of restoration work, proudly supporting Schools Behind Our River.
Students and a number of teaching staff from Opaki and Rathkeale volunteered to help plant over 500 native seedlings around a stream adjacent to the Rathkeale Eco Trail behind the Ruamahanga River. Special thanks to both schools and for the support of Masterton Trust House for contributing towards the cost of the seedlings, and Trevor Thompson for his conservation expertise and guidance.
